Troops have recovered a Nigerian Army truck reportedly stolen by suspected members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), during an attack in Orsu in September 2023.
The vehicle was recovered on 25 February 2026 by troops of the 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, during an operation at Mother Valley in Orsuihiteukwa community.
According to security sources, the attacke
rs had attempted to conceal the truck’s identity by repainting it black.
However, troops were able to identify and retrieve the vehicle.
Other vehicles allegedly carjacked from victims were also recovered during the operation by the Joint Task Force (JTF).
Military authorities said efforts were ongoing to track down members of the criminal group operating in the area and to restore normalcy to affected communities.
