President Bola Tinubu has held a high-level security meeting with the nation’s service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting focused on the current security situation across the country and the ongoing operations by troops and other security agencies to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protect lives and property.
Speaking to State House Correspondents after the meeting, the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, said the armed forces are making significant gains in the fight against terrorism, banditry and other security threats.
However, he expressed concern over what he described as biased reports in some sections of the media suggesting that the military is losing the war.
The Defence Minister commended officers and men of the armed forces for their courage and sacrifices on the frontlines, noting that their efforts continue to degrade criminal networks across the country.
He also revealed that President Tinubu issued fresh directives aimed at strengthening ongoing security operations and improving coordination among security agencies.
