The Ogun State Police Command has issued an official update regarding TikToker Abigael Nsikak, popularly known as Mirabel, detailing her current status following her viral rape allegations.
The update, disclosed in a late Wednesday statement signed by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, stated that the alleged victim was released to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, citing consideration for her welfare and support needs.
The Command revealed that the Ministry of Women Affairs has assumed responsibility for her care, pledging to produce her whenever her presence is required for the ongoing investigation.
The statement reads, “The Ogun State Police Command wishes to provide an update on Abigeal Nsikak, popularly known as Mirabel on TikTok, following the rape allegation she made online. Upon her visit to the police station, she was received and taken to a medical facility for a necessary examination to verify her claims. She has continued to cooperate with investigators as due process progresses.”
The statement added, “In consideration of her welfare and support needs, she has been released to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development. The Ministry has undertaken responsibility for her care and has assured the Command that she will be made available whenever required, as investigations continue.”

“The Command assures the public that the matter is being handled with professionalism, sensitivity, and diligence. Members of the public are urged to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to run its full course. Further updates will be provided as necessary,” the statement concluded.
TVC News previously reported that the Ogun State Government has visited Mirabel, the TikToker at the centre of the viral rape allegation, confirming her admission to a state-owned health facility while vowing to pursue justice and ensure the perpetrator is held accountable.
The State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday, after visiting the survivor at the health facility, in the company of the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and the facility’s Medical Director.
