Security around farming communities in Taraba have been beefed up in the sixteen local government areas of the state
That is according to the state police commissioner, David Iloyanomon
It appears there are more persons participating in farming activities across the 16 local government areas of Taraba state this year.
This is because the Taraba state police is not leaving any stone unturned as it planned to protect farmers and their communities from kidnappers and bandits
The state commissioner of police says mechanism have been put in place to prevent herders and farmers conflict as well as assuring those that are taking part in this years farming season of adequate protection.
Now, the state chairman of the Christian association of Nigeria wants the three tiers of government to do more towards ensuring food security.
He encouraged farmers to form a vigilante group around their community as additional way of protecting themselves.
The state commissioner for agriculture shares more light on the mechanism put in place by Governor Agbu Kefas administration in encouraging farming activities.
Some farmers who spoke with Tvcnews raised concerns over cost of fertilizers.
With all the measures put in place by the Taraba state government, it is expected that there would be a bumper harvest at the end of this year’s farming season.
