The Nigerian Southern Senators Forum has announced the death of its General Secretary, Mpigi Barinada, who represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the current Senate.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, the Forum described the development as a profound loss to the Senate, Rivers State and the nation at large.
The Forum said Senator Mpigi was a committed and patriotic lawmaker who served with dedication, humility and integrity.
As General Secretary, he played an active role in the Forum’s activities, discharging his responsibilities with diligence and a strong sense of duty.
It noted that throughout his legislative career — from his tenure in the House of Representatives to his service in the Senate — he remained a steadfast advocate for his constituents and a respected voice in national discourse.
The Forum commiserated with his family, constituents, and the Government and people of Rivers State, praying that God grants his soul eternal rest and comforts all those mourning his passing.
The statement was signed by Senator Abiru in his capacity as Chairman of the Nigerian Southern Senators Forum.
