Samuel Aondoakura Akume, the son of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation(SGF), Senator George Akume, has married Deborah Ershima, daughter of Engineer Msula Atoga, in a quiet ceremony held on Saturday in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

The wedding was intentionally simple, with attendance limited to immediate family members and a small number of notable guests.

Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the reception as the representative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and was welcomed by Senator Akume in the company of Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.

Despite its understated nature, the occasion attracted figures from political and social circles. Among those present was the groom’s mother, Chief Mrs. Hanmo Dajor, a former spouse of Senator Akume.

The marriage adds to a series of recent personal events within the Akume family, coming soon after Senator Akume’s own wedding to Queen Zaynab Otiti Obanor (Ngohemba) and the traditional rites that marked her return to Gboko.
