The leadership of the two chambers of the National Assembly has announced a postponement in plenary resumption.
Acting Clerk to the House of Representatives, Ibrahim Sidi said the shift is in the light of the ongoing 2026 Budget Defence by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies which remains substantially incomplete.
The leadership of both Houses, therefore, directed the postponement of plenary sitting to allow Committees to conclude their budget defence accordingly.
He added that plenary, earlier scheduled to resume on Tuesday, 24th February 2026, will now reconvene on Thursday, 5th March 2026 at 11:00am.
The leadership, he said, regretted any inconvenience the adjustment might cause and urged members to utilise the intervening period to further refine and strengthen discourse on the ongoing budget defence.
