The Senate has passed a resolution urging authorities at the federal and state levels to prohibit the sales of cigarettes and other tobacco products 100 meters away from schools.
The federal lawmakers said this will help prevent children from embracing smoking at an early age.
The resolution follows a motion by Senator Oluremi Tinubu which highlighted the effects that damaging advertisements and open sales of cigarettes around schools have caused to students across Nigeria.
