Security operatives in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State have neutralised a key logistics supplier linked to armed bandit groups operating in the region.

The operation, conducted on Sunday near Ofere Bunu, formed part of a renewed security campaign coordinated by the Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, Zacchaeus Dare Michael, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, other security agencies, local vigilantes and community stakeholders.

According to security sources, the suspect had been supplying food, arms, ammunition and communication equipment to criminal elements in the area.

They said intelligence gathering and strong community support played a major role in tracking and intercepting him before he reached his destination.

Mr Michael described the breakthrough as a major step in dismantling the logistics networks sustaining criminal activities in the axis.

“This action is a clear signal to all those who aid and abet criminals within our communities,” he said. “We will not rest until every safe haven and support line for these enemies of peace is completely uprooted. Our people deserve to live free from fear.”

The chairman further assured residents of intensified joint operations, intelligence sharing and visible security presence across all districts.

He also urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements to the authorities.

Officials believe the success will strengthen ongoing efforts to restore peace and stability in Kabba/Bunu and surrounding areas.
