Security forces in Borno State have foiled coordinated terrorist attacks on Nganzai and Damasak communities, restoring calm after the early morning assaults on April fourth.

In Nganzai, suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters attacked the Divisional Police Headquarters, engaging police officers and other security operatives in a fierce gun battle.

The attackers were repelled, but four police personnel were killed, and parts of the station were damaged.

A similar attack occurred in Damasak, where terrorists targeted the Mallam Fatori IDP camp.

One member of the local hunters group was killed, while several houses were destroyed during the incident.

Authorities say combined security teams responded swiftly in both locations, preventing further damage.

The Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid, has deployed additional personnel to reinforce security and urged residents to remain vigilant.
