Nigeria Referee Association, NRA says it will punish the official that handled the Federation Cup Semi-final between Ifeanyi Ubah and Crown FC on Wednesday if found culpable following an allegation of poor officiating in the game.
NRA president Tade Azeez says the referees association will not fail to maintain its high standard in ensuring that fairness is achieved in contentious situations.
The match played in Kaduna was abandoned in the final minutes when fans invaded the pitch protesting the Referee’s decision to disallow a goal scored by Crown despite awarding what is believed to be a dubious penalty to their opponents.
Azeez says the association will still wait for the appropriate reports from the match before it can take action.
