Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the recent violent attacks in parts of the state that left several people dead and properties destroyed.

The governor, who met with the President at the Presidential Villa on invitation, says the situation— which escalated on Sunday evening— has now been brought under control following the deployment of security forces and the imposition of a curfew in affected communities.

He noted that while there were isolated cases of looting earlier in the day, security agencies have since restored calm.

Governor Mutfwang says the President has been fully briefed on the incident, approved additional security measures, and is considering a visit to Plateau State to commiserate with victims.

He described the attacks as acts of criminality and terrorism, adding that efforts are underway to apprehend those responsible and prevent a recurrence.
