Akwa Ibom state police command has uncovered a mortuary that houses dangerous weapons belonging to a notorious  kidnap kingpin in the state.

This was revealed while addressing  journalists  on the command’s effort to ensure the safety  and security of residents at the police headquarters , Ikot  Akpan, Abia.

The suspects were arrested for various crimes, from kidnap, murder, rape, theft, illegal baby factory operation etc.

This suspect posed as a passenger along Idoro road, but turned out to kill the rider,  buried him in a shallow grave and escaped with the deceased’s motor cycle, but he was unlucky when the police arrested him during a  stop  and search barely 48 hours later.

Another suspect… is alleged to operate a baby factory syndicate between Akwa Ibom and Abia state under the guise of a licenced  orphanage.

Young girls are impregnated in the homes and when they give birth, their babies are sold for   between 700,000 and 1million naira. While the police say some of the babies have been  recovered,  the woman denies the allegation.

The Akwa Ibom state command says it will not rest on its oars in tackling criminality in the state and wants citizen’s cooperation in providing information. Miriam  Daniels, TVC News, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
