The Kebbi State Police Command has assured residents of Bagudo and its environs of their safety following a loud explosion at the General Hospital, Bagudo, in the early hours of Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
According to the Command, a joint security team comprising the Police, Military and local Vigilante members promptly cordoned off and secured the area to prevent any further threat to public safety.
Specialist EOD-CBRN personnel were also deployed to the scene to conduct a detailed assessment of the incident.
The Police confirmed that no casualties were recorded, Although a building within the hospital staff quarters was damage, all occupants had safely evacuated before the incident, averting loss of life.
To ensure sustained calm, the Commissioner of Police has ordered additional tactical deployments to the area, while a comprehensive investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the explosion.
Members of the public have been advised to remain calm and avoid the immediate vicinity as security and investigative operations continue.
