TVC N. The new Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Adekunle Odude, on Monday paraded five suspected kidnappers for their involvement in the abduction of a 42- year- old woman in Ibadan, the state capital.

He also paraded ‎18 suspect armed robbers who specialised in car snatching and burglary in the state.

Parading the suspects at the Eleyele police command headquarters, Odude said on February 25 at around 10:00 p.m., a group of men trailed a 42 –year-old woman from Ojoo down to her residence in Akobo.

“They robbed her of her valuables including cash, jewelries and phone and later took her to an undisclosed location in the forest area of Ogere, Ogun State, where she was kept for two days thereby preventing her relations from contacting her. The victim was gagged and blindfolded and later the suspects contacted her family members for a ransom before she was released on Monday.

“Based on intelligence gathering, we contacted our men in Lagos and the RRS arrested three of them in Lagos and my men also arrested four others in Ibadan,” he said

Those arrested included Folorunso Aderopo (31), an ex-convict who was released in August 2016, Taoreed Ibrahim, Wilfred Manger, Moshood, and Umar Amadu.

Items recovered from the‎ suspects are – one Toyota Highlander, one Nokia phone, Samsung S5 phone, eight sim cards and one ATM card.
