The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed four officers for their involvement in the killing of seven traders at Owode-Onirin in Lagos.
The Lagos State Police Command Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, confirmed the dismissal while addressing journalists at the Ikeja Police Officers’ Mess.
Jimoh said investigations into the Owode-Onirin killings were ongoing, noting that the dismissed officers were allegedly brought from Nasarawa State by the principal suspect identified as Ariori.
He explained that the officers were involved in the unlawful killings of the traders.
The commissioner assured the public that justice would be served, adding that ballistic and autopsy reports were already guiding the prosecution process.
“This matter has not been swept under the carpet, and we want the public and all the families of the victims to know that nobody can stop us from ensuring that justice is done.
“We will leave no stone unturned and will not be intimidated by anyone.
“All suspects will be prosecuted, and the courts remain open to hear every case,” Jimoh said.
He stressed that the Nigeria Police Force remained committed to its constitutional duty of maintaining law and order, insisting that no individual or group could obstruct the course of justice.
According to him, about 98 per cent of the investigation has been completed, while the police would continue to take necessary steps to safeguard residents of Lagos.
Jimoh also urged residents and traders to remain vigilant, assuring them of the command’s commitment to safety and justice.
The incident occurred in August 2025 during a clash between land grabbers and traders in the Owode-Onirin area of the State.
