The Ondo State Police Command has assured residents of Ilado community in Akure North Local Government Area of enhanced security following the killing of a man by suspected gunmen.
The State Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, gave the assurance during an on-the-spot assessment visit to the community, where he led a team of senior officers to evaluate the situation and engage with residents.
Condemning the incident, the Police Commissioner described the killing as unfortunate and unacceptable, stressing that efforts are underway to track down those responsible and bring them to justice.
He urged members of the community to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could aid ongoing investigations and help prevent further attacks.

Mr. Lawal further disclosed that tactical teams have been deployed to Ilado and surrounding areas to strengthen security presence, reassure residents, and deter criminal activities.
He added that the police command is collaborating closely with other security agencies in the state to restore normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property in the affected community
