The Kebbi State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, and other violent crimes through intelligence-led operations.

Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Kangiwa Divisional Police Headquarters on 7 February 2026 at about 3:00 p.m. arrested two suspects, Hamza Aliyu and Aliyu Ahmadu, along the border axis for allegedly supplying logistics to suspected Lakurawa terrorists.

The suspects were found in possession of 31 parcels of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

In a related operation, the Command’s Special Tactical Team, in collaboration with the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, arrested Sani Bature alias “Nage” and Rabiu Bature in Bagudo Local Government Area.

Recovered from them were one AK-49 rifle, 611 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, and a locally fabricated, charmed bullet-proof vest.

All suspects are in custody and will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Mohammed Hadeija, psc, , reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to the Police.
