The Jigawa State Police Command has arrested ten suspects in a series of operations targeting armed robbery, drug trafficking, and other crimes across the state.
In a Monday statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Jigawa State Police Command, SP Shi’isu Adam, the operation, which was carried out simultaneously across the state, resulted in the arrest of one wanted armed robbery suspect, 9 other suspects, seizure of 7,028 illicit drugs, including rubber solutions, suck and die, and dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
According to the statement, seven suspected drug dealers and consumers were arrested, including Nadabo Ibrahim ‘m’, 25, of Kwanar Garki, Alkassaim Sa’idu ‘m’, 27 of Acauya village, Sule Tankarkar LGA, Ibrahim Sambo ‘m’, 22, of Bitinariya Quarters, Hadejia LGA, Usman Abubakar ‘m’, 30 of Dunari Quarters, Aminu Muhd ‘m’, 25 of Dunari Quarters, Yusuf Sale ‘m’, 22, of Nassarawa Quarters and Ibrahim Ismail ‘m’, 23yrs of Marakawa Quarters, Ringim LGA.
The statement reads, “Recovery of Stolen Motorcycle in Hadejia Town: Prompt operational response—police operatives from ‘B’ Division Hadejia recovered a white Jincheng motorcycle that was earlier reported stolen from the complainant’s house located in Rinde Quarters, Hadejia town.
“Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect(s) connected with the theft, while the recovered motorcycle has since been returned to its rightful owner on bond.”
The statement added that following a diligent patrol and intelligence-led investigation, operatives attached to M/Madori Division recovered two cows suspected to have been rustled at the outskirts of Dunari Quarters.
The suspects abandoned the cows and escaped to a nearby bush. Efforts have been intensified to trace the rightful owner of the cows, arrest those responsible for the rustling, and curb cattle-related crimes within the area.
The statement further disclosed that, “Arrest of Wanted Armed Robbery Suspect and Recovery of Stolen Camel: One Shu’aibu Musa ‘m’ was arrested in connection with the theft of a camel by the operatives of Taura Division. On investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was a wanted armed robbery suspect who had been on the police watchlist.

“During the operation, a camel suspected to have been stolen was recovered from him. The suspect was transferred to the SCID Dutse for diligent investigation and prosecution.”
“Furthermore, police operatives in Sundimina town arrested a suspected phone thief as well as another individual believed to be a receiver of stolen mobile phones.
“One Abdullahi Isyaku ‘m’ age 20yrs of Asayaya village, allegedly trespassed into the complainant’s residential house and stole one Infinix Smart 10, one Tecno Camon 19, one Itel keypad, and a cash of twenty thousand naira (₦20,000).
“On investigation, the suspect claimed to have sold the stolen phones to one Nasir Saleh ‘m’ age 30yrs of the same address. Nasir confessed to having bought all the phones for sixty-one thousand naira (#61,000). Investigation has been completed, while suspects were arraigned in court,” the statement concluded.
The Command’s Commissioner of Police, CP Dahiru Muhammad, commended the professionalism, dedication, and resilience of officers involved in these operations.
