The Plateau State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has thrown its weight behind growing allegations that Christians in Nigeria are facing an ongoing genocide.
The association says years of unprovoked killings, destruction of communities, and targeted attacks on worshippers clearly point to a coordinated effort to wipe out believers from their ancestral lands.
CAN Plateau says the pattern of killings across parts of the state and beyond has become too glaring to ignore. From Bokkos to Mangu, Barkin Ladi, and Riyom, Christian communities have suffered repeated assaults with thousands displaced and many still missing.

The association insists these are not isolated clashes but deliberate acts of extermination.
In a statement issued after an emergency meeting in Jos, the association expressed deep concern that the killings have continued despite years of government promises.
