President Bola Tinubu has received the President of Chad, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, at the State House in Abuja.

Itno’s visit to Aso Villa comes before Tinubu’s scheduled visit to Jos, the Plateau State capital.

 

TVC News Online had earlier reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu postponed his planned trip to Iperu in Ogun State, opting instead to visit Jos following recent deadly attacks that have left several citizens dead.

In a statement on Wednesday by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, it was confirmed that: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today postponed his scheduled trip to Iperu, Ogun State, tomorrow to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

“Instead, he will head to Jos, capital of Plateau state, to commiserate with the government and people of the state over the recent gun attacks, which claimed the lives of innocent citizens. From Plateau, the President will travel to Lagos to observe Good Friday.”

The hosting of Chad’s President by President Bola Tinubu was disclosed in a post by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun.

Olusegun wrote: “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receives in audience the President of Chad , Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, at the State house.”
