All is now set at the historic Mapo Hall for the coronation of elevated High Chiefs in the Ibadan traditional line of succession.
The High Chiefs to be crowned include Sharafadeen Alli, who will assume the title of Ekaarun Balogun of Ibadanland; Akeem Adedoyin as Ekeerin Balogun of Ibadanland; and Oyekola Babalola as Ekaarun Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Traditional rulers and dignitaries have begun arriving at the venue ahead of the ceremony, which is expected to attract top government officials, members of the Olubadan-in-Council, political leaders, and other prominent stakeholders from across Oyo State and beyond.
The event marks a significant step in the Ibadan traditional ascension system, which is structured to ensure an orderly progression to the revered stool of the Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The Olubadan of Ibadan is not present but he’s being represented by high chief Tajudeen Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadan land.
