As Youth across the Nation brace up for a nationwide protest against hardship and bad governance on August 1st, a sociocultural group, the Niger Delta Peace Movement has asked citizens to discard the planned protest over security issues.
The national leader of the group, Destiny Awolowo, in a statement said that the protest might be hijacked by some opposition leaders to destabilize the country.

Making a reference to the endsars protest where some hoodlums hid under the disguise of Nigerian youths to steal and destroy property across the nation.
Awolowo however appealed for more diplomatic means to be employed in addressing their grievances rather than resorting to street protests which may blow up the nation.
