The Niger state commissioner of police Ebenezer Danmaman says he will no longer tolerate unlawful plea by family members of arrested hoodlums seeking for their release, he says noting this is a way of abating crime.
The police chief revealed this during a police community interaction in Minnesota.
Minna, which was formerly plagued by street battles and phone snatchings, has experienced a significant decrease in crime rates in recent weeks.
The shift comes as the Niger State Police Command, led by Commissioner Ebenezer Danmaman, tightens down on criminal activity.
To further enhance the effectiveness of police operations within the state, the police is having a community interaction with local stakeholders to discuss ongoing efforts to keep the city safe.
While there is more to be done in operations, the stakeholders are commending the efforts of the police.
Residents in Minna are hopeful that with continued cooperation, the city will become a safer place for everyone.
