The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has released 200,000 bags of rice to flood victims in North East states.
Managing Director of the commission, Mohammed Alkali, said this is to mitigate the impact of the flood disaster on victims.
According to him, due to the current massive flooding in Maiduguri caused by the breakdown of Alau Dam, greater percentage of the allocation would go to Maiduguri the Borno state capital.

Other items includes 150 cartoons of pasta, 250,000 gallons of oil, mats, blankets mosquitoes nets and clothing materials.
