Two Medical Doctors at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia the capital of Nasarawa State have lost their lives due to complication from Lassa Fever.
The two doctors are Dr. Victor Nwatu, and Dr. Esa Oga both of the Obstetrics and Gynaecologist department of the hospital.
The doctors were said to have attended to pregnant woman at the hospital who was unknown to them infected with Lassa Fever.
The case of Lassa fever was established after Dr. Nwatu died of complications of the virus and a post-motem report confirmed that the deceased pregnant woman was a carrier.
Few days after the death of Dr Nwatu, the consultant physician Dr Oga also fell ill and died of related complications.
