The Lagos State Police Command has dismissed reports of a possible cult-related clash in parts of the State, assuring residents that the situation is under control.

In a statement, the Command said it had taken proactive measures to prevent any breakdown of law and order in areas mentioned in the circulating message, including Shitta, Akerele, Itire/Aguda, and Ishaga.

Police authorities confirmed that personnel and operational assets were swiftly deployed to the affected locations and surrounding communities following the initial reports.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, has ordered intensified patrols, strategic positioning of officers, and increased visibility across identified flashpoints.

According to the Command, the areas are secure, with adequate coverage in place to deter unlawful gatherings or activities.

Residents have been urged to remain calm and go about their daily activities without fear, as security agencies continue to maintain a strong presence.

The Police also advised the public to ignore unverified rumours capable of causing panic and to rely only on credible information from official sources.

Citizens were further encouraged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through designated emergency lines.
