The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service has successfully contained two separate fire incidents that broke out overnight in Agege and Yaba areas of the state, preventing further damage and casualties.
The first fire occurred about 10:46 p.m. on Friday at Tower Aluminium Village along Abeokuta Expressway in Dopemu, Agege.
Firefighters from Ikeja and Agege stations responded swiftly, bringing the blaze under control after it affected several offices and stores of varying sizes within the complex.
According to a statement by the Agency’s Controller General, Margret Adeseye, the affected structures, located on a land area measuring approximately 2,592 square metres within a larger four-acre premises, sustained significant damage to parts of the buildings and their contents.
Hours later, about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, another fire incident was reported at a three-storey commercial building on Oyabiyi Street, opposite the NLC office in Tejuosho, Yaba.

The building, which housed shops and stores stocked with textile materials, was engulfed by flames.
Fire crews from Somolu, Ilupeju and Sari Iganmu stations were deployed to the scene and successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby properties.
The fire service said both operations were handled with professionalism and prompt response, ensuring the incidents did not escalate or result in loss of life.
Adeseye, reiterated the need for adherence to fire safety measures, particularly in commercial areas where flammable materials are commonly stored, urging residents to remain vigilant.
She also confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the causes of the fires.
