The Kwara state command of the Nigerian police has handed over 24 suspected smugglers, 825 bags of rice to the Nigeria Customs Service.
The suspected smugglers, fifteen in number were intercepted by men of the Nigerian Airforce along Ira road, Offa, Kwara after which 9 other suspected smugglers and agents were also arrested.

At a press briefing in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the commissioner of police, Kayode Egbetokun, said the all the suspects have confessed to the crime.
He handed them over to the Nigeria Customs Service for further investigation and prosecution.
