Ahmed Ododo, Governor of Kogi State, wants the newly recruited Hunters to be professional in carrying out their duties across the state.
He gave the charge at a ceremony to distribute gadgets to hunters at the Government House in Lokoja.
The Governor expressed commitment to deal decisively with criminal elements who intend to cause breach of security across the State.
He further stated that the State will not be turned to a breeding ground for criminals and urged all hands to be on deck to wipe out criminals in the state.
The Commissioner of Police Kogi command Bertrand Onuoha says the recruitment of the local hunters and the provision of the protective items will assist security agencies to combat insecurity.
State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Retired) applauded the state government for the community-based approach in fighting crime.
