The Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Taiwo Fasoranti, has resigned his appointment to pursue the Ondo Central Senatorial seat in the 2027 general election.

Mr Fasoranti, son of Afenifere National Leader, Chief Reuben Fasoranti, was appointed SSG by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in 2024, shortly after the governor assumed office.

In his resignation letter made available to journalists on Friday, Mr Fasoranti said he would be seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to represent Ondo Central in the Senate.

He noted that his decision was driven by a deep sense of responsibility, a lifelong commitment to public service, and a strong belief in the vast potential of the people of the district.

He highlighted his over three decades of experience spanning the medical profession and public administration as critical preparation for legislative duties.

He recalled his service at the State House Medical Centre, Abuja, where he rose to the directorate cadre before retiring in 2024, as well as his recent role as SSG.

According to him, his career has been guided by the values of humility, integrity, and dedication, which he pledged to bring to bear in legislative service.

Fasoranti also appealed to the people of Ondo Central Senatorial District for their support as he seeks to realise his ambition to represent them at the National Assembly.
