Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi has signed into law the 2025 supplementary budget worth N75.1 billion, as well as the Environmental Protection Bill.
While addressing journalists after the signing, the governor explained that the new appropriation became important after increased revenue inflows into the purse of the government.
Namadi stated that N58bn out of the total N75.1 billion is allocated to state projects, while N17.1bn is earmarked for the 20 local government councils across Jigawa State.
The governor applauded the State House of Assembly for the speedy passage of the bill, noting that the supplementary budget will quicken the delivery of ongoing infrastructure and social development projects.

He further nurged stakeholders to work with the government in safeguarding the environment for the benefit of the people, stressing that environmental protection is key to sustainable development.
By signing both bills, Governor Umar Namadi says his administration is strengthening the foundation for growth and ensuring that resources are channeled towards projects that will improve the lives of citizens.
