Former INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega has attributed the lack of access to quality education, health and social welfare, also a lack of opportunity for productive undertakings as some of the challenges facing Africa’s youth.
Professor Jega made this known during the just concluded Sokoto students and youth summit held in Sokoto state university.
Jega said governments at all levels should create opportunities and provide
support services for the teeming youth population, as these would enable them grow and participate in the process of nation building.
He warned African leaders that the youth are both an opportunity and threat depending on the response of the leaders in meeting their yearnings and aspirations.
