The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced a two-day training for Registration officials and National Youth Service Corps Members across the 30 Local Government Areas of Osun State.

In a Wednesday statement posted on the commission’s official X handle, INEC said the exercise forms part of preparations for the devolvement of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to the Registration Area (RA) level, and in line with legal provisions and the Commission’s commitment to deepening voter access and participation.

According to the statement, the training, which began on Wednesday, 1st April 2026, is being organised by The Electoral Institute (TEI) to equip personnel with the requisite knowledge and skills for the effective conduct of the CVR at the grassroots.

The statement reads, “Participants, comprising staff of the Commission and members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), are being taken through comprehensive modules covering registration procedures, operational processes, and the deployment of relevant tools and technology required for seamless voter enrolment.”

INEC further stated that the exercise is a strategic step to bring voter registration closer to eligible citizens ahead of the Osun State polls.

The statement added, “The devolvement of the CVR exercise to the Registration Area level is a strategic step by the Commission to bring voter registration closer to eligible citizens, ahead of the #OsunDecides2026 Election scheduled for 15th August 2026.”

“The initiative is expected to enhance inclusivity, improve service delivery, and ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to register in a timely and efficient manner,” the statement concluded.
