At least twenty persons have been killed and many injured following recent crisis which rocked Awarra Community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State.
Eye witnesses say that the recent crisis was caused by poor handling of Governor Rochas Okorocha’s amnesty programme to the militants of the oil communities in Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas of the State.
The people of Awarra community have since deserted their homes for fear of being hit by strange bullets.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Army has taken over the community,patrolling on a daily basis to restore law and order.
