The Nigerian Senate is pushing for stiffer sanctions for persons caught in the possession of firearms not legally procured in Nigeria.
This plan was the subject of discussions when the Senate held a one day public hearing on a bill to curb the proliferation of illegal arms in the country, sponsored by Kaduna State Senator, Uba Sani.
