TVC N. Resident Doctors in Nigeria’s Premier Tertiary Teaching Hospital, the University College Hospital, Ibadan have embarked on a 5-day warning strike.
The doctors say they have decided to boycott their duty posts over what they termed underpayment by management, an act which has spanned over two years.
Trading words over the lingering industrial impasse, President of the Resident Doctors Union at the UCH Ibadan, Luqman Ogunjimi described management’s move in recent times as insincere.
On the other hand, Chief Medical Director of the Institution Professor Temitope Alonge explained that the hospital has been incapable of meeting its financial obligation to its employees due to lack of budgetary provisions.
