Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has stated that his body should be buried within four weeks of his death, disclosing detailed instructions for his burial.

In a video going viral on Saturday, shared on YouTube by City Edge TV, Fayose, who turns 65 today, said that his body and the burial rites should be handled by the Ekiti State Government.

Fayose said, “Remember me for anything. And when I die, let me say this. Death is inevitable. My body belongs to the Ekiti state government… I’m delivering a letter to the governor.

“On behalf of the governors to come, Ekiti state government takes over my body and I must be buried within 4 weeks because the state might not be ready in two to three days, but I will allow them 4 weeks.”

Fayose further gave instructions to his kids on what to do during the burial rite and where he body must be laid.

Fayose stated, “And my children are to wear their own clothes with families and form with the government to do the needful.

“I made a garden in my grandmother’s home and i want to laid there after i die.

“And nobody should visit me after i am laid to rest. If you have anything you want to do for me, do it now.”

TVC previously reported that President Bola Tinubu has commemorated the former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on the occasion of his 65th Birthday, describing him as a “significant political figure in Nigeria”. 

In a statement personally signed by the President, he reflected on Fayose’s first tenure as Governor of Ekiti, expressing that the administration was troubled and truncated due to the abuse of presidential powers.
