Gov. Umar Namadi honored as "Shield of Nigerian Imams"

The Association of Nigerian Imams has turbaned Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State as “Garkuwar Limaman Nigeria” in recognition of his contributions to the Islamic community.

The Association of Nigerian Imams, a revered body of Islamic scholars, honored Governor Umar Namadi for his commitment to building mosques, Islamic schools, and healthcare facilities.

This commitment has earned him the admiration and respect of Islamic scholars.

 

His turbaning is a testament to his dedication to upholding Islamic values and promoting peaceful coexistence.

The title “Garkuwar Limaman Nigeria” means “Shield of Nigerian Imams.” It recognizes Governor Namadi’s efforts to develop Islamic religious knowledge and create a board for tsangaya education.

TVC NEWS Correspondent Yusif Isah reports that the event was a grand assembly of esteemed Imams and scholars from across the country.

In his response, Governor Namadi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Imams and scholars for the honor.

He acknowledged the title as a testament to his administration’s commitment to upholding Islamic values.

He also pledged to continue working tirelessly for the benefit of his people, emphasizing his dedication to justice, compassion, and service to humanity.

Governor Namadi accepted the challenge and responsibility that came with the title.

Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Adam, the President of the Association of Nigerian Imams, praised Governor Namadi’s selfless service.

He cited initiatives that positively impacted countless lives.

According to him the selection of Governor Namadi as “Garkuwar Limaman Nigeria” was a unanimous decision made after careful consideration.

Sheikh Muhammad Adam emphasized that the title symbolizes Governor Namadi’s role as a protector and champion of Islamic interests.

Professor Ibrahim Ahmad Makari, Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, presented a paper on the contribution of Imams towards peaceful co-existence in Nigeria.
