Five people have been confirmed dead, while 13 others were rescued with injuries following a fire incident at the Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Building.
In a statement issued to TVC News, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said it is working in collaboration with other emergency responders at the scene.
According to the agency, search and rescue operations are ongoing as responders continue to comb through the rubble to verify reports and locate any possible survivors.
NEMA assured Nigerians that reports suggesting more people may still be trapped in the building are being treated with the utmost seriousness, and that all necessary efforts are being made to rescue anyone still inside.
