The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed has ordered a comprehensive internal reform programme targeting discipline, professionalism, and improved service delivery across all commands nationwide.

The directive, announced in a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Olusegun Ogungbemide, mandates the immediate deployment of the Corps Management Team to field commands for a structured retreat and reorientation exercise. The initiative is designed to recalibrate operational standards, reinforce accountability, and boost productivity within the agency.

At the heart of the reform is a firm warning against unprofessional behaviour, particularly acts of incivility toward members of the public.

The Corps leadership stressed that any conduct capable of eroding public trust or undermining the agency’s statutory responsibilities will attract strict disciplinary sanctions.

Personnel found guilty of misconduct, abuse of authority, or actions that bring the Corps into disrepute will face immediate consequences in line with established regulations.

The nationwide exercise will focus on strengthening ethical compliance, enhancing supervisory accountability, standardising enforcement procedures, and promoting a more citizen-centred approach to operations. Commanding Officers have been directed to institutionalise renewed performance benchmarks and ensure strict adherence to the Corps’ code of conduct at all levels.

Beyond internal reviews, members of the Management Team are expected to engage directly with stakeholders and the public to gather feedback on service delivery and operational conduct.

The move is aimed at improving transparency, responsiveness, and overall institutional credibility.

Describing the initiative as a strategic step toward continuous improvement, the FRSC leadership reaffirmed its commitment to delivering professional, humane, and efficient road safety services to Nigerians.
