FG To Investigate Alleged Sale Of Government Houses In Lagos

The ministry of interior has promised to conduct a thorough investigation of alleged sale of government property around the Lagos liaison office of the ministry of interior.

The minister said this during an inspection tour of several government facilities under the supervision of the ministry of interior. When journalists asked him about the alleged sale, he dismissed it saying it is an administrative issue that will be investigated.

The minister of interior is in Ikoyi, Lagos state to check for the first time the building structures of different facilities under the ministry of interior.

One of the facilities inspected is the liaison office of the ministry of interior.

For the minister it is upsetting and worrisome to know that the sale of land surrounding the liaison office after noticing a fence encroaching the property.

The minister promised to investigate the alleged sale and hold the perpetrators accountable.

The inspection tour made a stop at the ikoyi correctional centre, where journalists were prevented from seeing for themselves the state of the correctional centre.

After his inspection of the facility, the minister gave his assessment of the facilities and promised to make correctional centres more humane and serve as a place for rehabilitation of the inmates.

The minister also promised to commence the home delivery of passports soon.

With various agencies under the supervision of the ministry of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is hoping to foster collaboration among these agencies in order to increase efficiency and improve their service delivery.
