FG begins enumeration of GEEP beneficiaries in Imo State

Federal Government has commenced enumeration of over One thousand beneficiaries of trader money, farmer money and market money (GEEP) in Imo State.

The initiative is part of Federal Government effort to lift more Nigerians from poverty.

The Federal Government Enterprise Empowerment Program is a loan program created as a component of the government’s National Social Investment Programs to provide financial inclusion and credit access to poor and vulnerable people, including Persons with Disabilities and those at the bottom of the economic pyramid who are engaged in small-scale commercial activities under its three flagship.

The Federal ministry of humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has commenced the enumeration of Beneficiaries in all the twenty seven local government areas of Imo State.

Programme Manager, GEEP, Kate Igwe, stated that the loan must be put to good use as all mechanisms to monitor it’s usage has been activated by the government.

The three flagships of Tradermoni, Farmermoni and MarketMoni initiatives provide capital to beneficiaries in an easily accessible way to grow their business and on-board them into the formal financial system through bank accounts, mobile wallets, and formal identities.
