The Federal Government has approved Pillarcraft Cloud Solutions as a certified System Integrator for Nigeria’s e-Invoicing framework, a key component of the country’s ongoing tax reform programme aimed at enhancing digital tax administration and structured business reporting.

The accreditation was issued by the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), working in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), positioning the firm among authorised service providers permitted to link corporate business systems to the NRS e-invoicing platform under the Merchant Buyer framework.

In a statement released in Abuja, Pillarcraft said the approval enables it to provide technical integration services that allow businesses to transmit compliant electronic invoices directly to the NRS platform.

The company explained that its role as a System Integrator involves bridging enterprise systems such as ERP, accounting, and invoicing software with the national e-invoicing infrastructure.

According to Pillarcraft: “In the NRS e-invoicing (Merchant Buyer) framework introduced by the Nigeria Revenue Service (formerly FIRS), a System Integrator is a licensed service provider responsible for connecting taxpayers’ business systems — such as ERP, accounting, or invoicing software — to the NRS e-invoicing platform.”

Under the framework, System Integrators are responsible for converting invoices generated within business environments into the prescribed NRS e-invoice format, ensuring the inclusion of all mandatory data fields, securely transmitting the invoices through licensed Access Point Providers, and returning validated invoices for compliance, reporting, and audit purposes.

The firm disclosed that it developed a dedicated middleware solution to support this process, describing it as a technical interface that enables seamless communication between business systems and the NRS platform.

Pillarcraft likened the solution to a decoder that translates broadcast signals into a usable display format, noting that the technology was designed to deliver accurate, scalable, and efficient e-invoicing integration.

As part of the accreditation, Pillarcraft also announced the public launch of UsawaConnect™, a purpose-built B2B e-invoicing middleware designed to integrate enterprise resource planning systems, accounting software, and invoicing platforms with the NRS Merchant Buyer Platform. The company said the solution is now accessible through its dedicated portal.

The firm noted that the approval places it among a select group of companies authorised to support businesses seeking structured compliance with Nigeria’s national digital tax infrastructure. It added that the accreditation validates its technical expertise and operational readiness to function as a trusted integration partner within the e-invoicing ecosystem.

Pillarcraft further explained that UsawaConnect™ was engineered as a secure integration layer capable of transmitting validated invoice data, maintaining structured audit logs, and enabling organisations to comply with e-invoicing requirements without the need to replace existing software systems. The platform, it said, is suitable for SMEs, large enterprises, accounting firms, and software vendors.

The company attributed the development of the middleware to its long-standing experience at the intersection of tax, accounting, and technology, including its work as an implementation partner for global cloud solutions, the development of its Nigeria-focused Usawa Cloud Accounting Software, and over two decades of professional tax practice.

Founder of Pillarcraft, Bayode Agbi, described the e-invoicing initiative as a broader transformation beyond technology adoption. “E-invoicing is not just a technology project; it is a tax and business transformation,” he said.

He added: “Our accreditation as a System Integrator and the launch of UsawaConnect™ reflect years of practical experience working with Nigerian businesses, tax authorities, and enterprise systems. We built UsawaConnect™ to make compliance seamless, reliable, and scalable.”

Agbi said the company plans to deploy the platform to support organisations connecting to the NRS e-invoicing system, ensuring secure integration, minimal disruption to operations, improved audit readiness, and scalability across multiple business units.

Pillarcraft also stated that its goal is to ensure digital compliance serves as an efficiency enabler for businesses while contributing to the broader modernisation of Nigeria’s tax administration framework.
