In April, the FCT Police Command recovered 21 stolen vehicles and detained almost 1,600 people as part of a comprehensive crackdown on criminal activity throughout the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Commissioner of Police Ajao Saka Adewale, the command escalated intelligence-led operations in response to an increase in auto theft and drug-related offenses.
15 people were arrested in connection with car thefts.
Six automobiles have already been restored to their verified owners, while 13 are on exhibit.
In one case, a suspect was arrested after allegedly stealing a Toyota Camry from the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.

Also recovered- a government-owned Hilux pickup reportedly stolen by a driver who was caught trying to sell it in Kaduna.
The most extensive operation occurred on April 30 and May 1 when joint security forces raided criminal hideouts across Abuja.
All suspects are in custody and will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.
