Nigeria’s para badminton players, including Olympics bronze medalist Eniola Bolaji are set to compete in two major international tournaments in Spain, marking a crucial step in their quest for global recognition.

The first event, the 2025 Spanish Level 2 International Para Badminton Championships, will take place in Victoria, Spain, from March 4 to 9, 2025. Five Nigerian players will compete in the singles category: Eniola Mariam Bolaji, Okoro Chinyere Lucky, Chukwuemeka Ijeoma Gift, Eze Chukwuebuka Sunday, and Nnanna Chigozie Jeremiah.

Following this, three Nigerian players will participate in the Spanish International Level 1 Para Badminton Championship in Toledo, Madrid, from March 12 to 16, 2025.

The players include Eniola Mariam Bolaji (Women’s SL3 – Singles), Nnanna Chigozie Jeremiah (Men’s SL4 – Singles & Doubles), and Eze Chukwuebuka Sunday (Men’s SL3 – Singles & Doubles).

Jeremiah and Eze will also team up in the Men’s SL3-SL4 doubles event, further strengthening Nigeria’s presence on the international stage.

These tournaments provide an opportunity for Nigerian para badminton athletes to showcase their talent against some of the best players in the world, as they continue to push for greater representation in global competitions.
