The Ekiti State government has launched a major initiative to clear waterways in Ado, Ikere, and Irepodun/Ifelodun local government areas, aiming to prevent the predicted flooding by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET).
The State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs. Tosin Aluko, highlighted the government’s proactive measures, stating that over the past 22 months, more than 500 million naira has been invested in dredging waterways to mitigate flood risks.
The State Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, reiterated the government’s dedication to protecting the lives and property of Ekiti citizens.
He assured the public that the administration is fully committed to implementing measures that will enhance the safety and well-being of all residents.
