buhari-mPresident Muhammadu Buhari has restated his government’s commitment towards making Nigeria an export led economy through diversification and encouraging more local production.

He made this known at the opening of the 22nd Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja.

The theme of this year’s Nigerian Economic Summit is “Made-In-Nigeria” and highlights the need to diversify the economy by using Made-In-Nigeria products to drive the process.

Declaring the summit open, President Buhari commended the choice of theme stressing that it could not have come at a better time.

Other speakers also took turns to appeal for the commitment of captains of industries in seeing to the realisation of this all important feat.

They acknowledged the complaints about the quality of some products made in the country, but assured that products will henceforth be monitored to ensure they meet up with international best standards fit for export

The Nigerian Economic Summit is an annual event jointly organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, an independent, non government Organisation and the ministry of budget and National Planning and is structured towards public-private sector dialogue on ways of improving Nigeria’s economy.
