Officers have been strategically stationed at churches, event centres, highways, recreational spots, and other public places, while tactical teams and patrol units have been positioned to deter crime and respond swiftly to emergencies.
The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyenisi, directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to intensify visibility policing and sustain intelligence-led operations throughout the celebrations.
He also urged officers to maintain professionalism and civility in their interactions with the public, while working closely with religious leaders to ensure effective coordination during and after the Easter period.
The Command called on residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through its control room lines.
Parents and guardians were further advised to closely monitor their children and wards during the festivities.
Reaffirming its commitment to the protection of lives and property, the Command appealed for continued public cooperation in maintaining peace and order across the state, while wishing Christian faithful a peaceful and hitch-free Easter celebration.
