The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has inaugurated 500 houses built at Nguro-Soye, a community in Bama Local Government council to resettle IDPs from 10 communities.
This the governor says is in fulfillment of his campaign promises to resettle all IDPs back to their places of abode.
1,000 shelters have been constructed for 1,100 households.
Just before the inauguration of the houses, Governor Babagana Zulum disclosed that this is part of his administration’s commitment to rebuilding Borno as he aims to close down all IDPs camps by the end of 2026.
The Nguro-Soye resettlement houses has public facilities as schools, a primary healthcare centre, water and other basic amenities.
50,000 naira cash was given to each head of household, while women also received 25,000 in addition to farming inputs.
Elsewhere, Governor Babagana Zulum visited Tarmuwa town where reconstruction is ongoing.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far and assured to resettle the people back to their ancestral home soon.
